The Kentucky Harness Horsemen's Association (KHHA) is a non-profit organization serving Standardbred horse owners, breeders, trainers, drivers, and fans who participate in the sport of harness racing in the Bluegrass state. We have representatives at Kentucky harness racing tracks and the fair racing circuit.

KHHA provides membership opportunities to all trainers, drivers, owners, breeders, and fans that have a stake in the harness racing industry in Kentucky.  Annual membership is $50 and expires on February 28th each year.    

​

KHHA Membership Benefits include:

​

  • Race bike coverage up to $2,500 provided programmed trainer, owner(s), and driver are all current members.  Coverage applies to actual race horse that is competing and pre-race warm-ups. 

​

  • 3rd party liability insurance from H.H.I. that provides coverage against damages that your horse may cause to some other person or person’s property.  Must occur at a pari-mutuel racetrack, county fair racetrack, or approved training center which must be listed on your membership.  

​

  • Representation for members at the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, National Insurance Conferences, USTA District Meetings, and County Fair Meetings.  

​

  • Tracking of legislation and regulatory changes that impact harness racing in Kentucky.  

​

  • Negotiates contracts for horsemen at harness racetracks.  

​

  •  Annual banquet to recognize accomplishments of Kentucky horsemen.  

​

  • One of a kind owner’s bonus program for those members eligible that participate in overnight racing at The Red Mile.
